Lochlynshawl Kit - Pattern by Judy Marples
- Blue Spruce
- New Leaf
- Barley 1
- Barley 2
The Lochlyn shawl is a triangular shawl that you knit from the point upwards. The blending of the two different yarns creates a new pattern and together with the rich texture of the garterstitch used, the result is something to behold.
The kit consists of 150g Harvest Hues from John Arbon textiles and 100g variegated merino singles.
We spent some time putting these kits together because combining different yarns is one of my passions. For us in South Africa using DK yarn can be a bit unpractical because of our climate. Therefore, I changed the yarn used in the pattern to a 4ply. The only adjustment needed is to keep on with the variegated yarn until it is finished and then use the remaining Harvest Hues for the border. The rich tone in each of the different colourways adds to the magic of this knit.
Recommended needle: I used a 3,75mm but please adjust to your own tension and technique. Please not that the notions in the pictures are NOT INCLUDED but is available in the shop.
The pattern is available at Ravelry.com
