The Hamlet and Diamic brands of turning tools are manufactured in Sheffield, UK by Henry Taylor Tools. They have a long history of making a wide range of handcrafted tools since 1834, using traditional methods, modern technology and the finest steel. The blades are made from very high quality M2 High Speed Steel (HSS) and are valued by professionals in the woodturning community. Well known professional turners including Glenn Lucas, Stuart Mortimer, Ray Key, Richard Raffan, Jean Francois Escoulen have designed many of the Henry Taylor tools and is produced as signature tools by Henry Taylor. They also produce tools from KRYO treated HSS as well as the M42 range of ‘stay sharp’ tools. These tools stay sharper even longer than the standard M2 HSS. The first time I worked with a Henry Taylor bowl gouge was at a turning course with Christoffer Child in the UK. His father, Peter Child was the designer of the Superflute gouge, which is till today regarded as one of the best bowl gouges available @henrytaylortools was therefore an obvious choice for Creative Turning SA when we started our business. We have been instrumental in introducing these turning tools in the South African market, where today it is recognised as one of the best brands available.
